Mayapur is located on the banks of the Ganges river, at the point of its confluence with the Jalangi, near Navadvip, 130 km north of Kolkata. The headquarters of ISKCON are situated in Mayapur, which is considered a holy place by a number of other traditions within Hinduism, but is of special significance to followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism as the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, regarded as a special incarnation of Krishna in the mood of Radha. It is visited by over a million pilgrims annually.
DAY 01: KOLKATA ARRIVAL
Arrive in Kolkata by flight or train. Check into your hotel and take some rest. Familiarize yourself with the city of Kolkata, known for its rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks. Visit the Victoria Memorial, a magnificent white marble structure that pays homage to Queen Victoria. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kolkata.
DAY 02: KOLKATA TO MAYAPUR
Early morning, proceed to Mayapur (120 km one way). En- route, stop at Krishnanagar and Visit the famous Ghurni area for doll making art. Later, drive to Mayapur which is the Head Quarters of ISKCON and Birth place of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, regarded as a special incarnation of Krishna in the mood of Radha. It is visited by over a million pilgrims annually. Vist Chandrodaya Temple with Sondhya arahti at Iskon Temple . Overnight stay at Mayapur.
DAY 03: DEPARTURE
Early morning,check out from the hotel and proceed to the Kolkata airport or railway station for your onward journey with beautiful memories of your Kalighat Kali Temple tour in Kolkata.
